When the final scaffolds came down, just days before the 2024 NFL season, Caesars Superdome had already clinched a victory. Upgrades to the stadium's interior were now finished, marking the end of a five-year renovation.

The project touched almost every corner of the 269,000-square-foot structure. Scope involved widening terrace-level views, adding eight ADA-compliant seating areas, installing 22 elevators, and building two 40-yard-long concession counters.

To contend with rapid event turnarounds and meet immovable project deadlines, stakeholders had to address the influx of waste generated by construction.

The job belonged to ABM.

Challenge

The lead-up to the 2024 NFL season finale would become one of the busiest stretches in Superdome history. Between 10 New Orleans Saints games, three Taylor Swift concerts, the Essence Festival of Culture, the Sugar Bowl, and Monster Jam, the building rarely sat dark, with crews racing to reset the venue every night.

They also faced the added challenge of post-construction cleanup, as demolition and reinforcement work scattered dust and debris across multiple levels. The workload grew even more difficult when an incident in the nearby French Quarter forced stadium officials to heighten security and postpone the college football quarterfinal.

Solution

ABM launched a rapid-turnaround cleaning program built on four pillars:

  • Proactive planning: Worked with stadium management to create cleaning schedules that accounted for construction, events, and evolving organizer needs.
  • Customer service excellence: Applied large-scale event expertise to maintain spaces at world-class standards.
  • 24/7 operations: Deployed round-the-clock teams to ensure continuous progress and meet tight deadlines.
  • Tech-enabled coordination: Used ABM Connect for real-time task tracking, seamless collaboration, and full stakeholder visibility.
